Wayne Lyrics – Safe Place

lyricslemez

Wayne Lyrics neve a magyar közönség számára sem hangozhat ismeretlenül, hiszen ő volt az az énekes,
aki 2009 februárjában már színpadra állt Empress Ayeola partnereként az egykori Gödör Klubban.
Első albumát 2000 - ben jelentette meg "Poor People a Bawl" címen, azonban ő maga  1989 óta tevékeny
a jamaicai zenei életben.
a névsor. A dalok egyrészt az afrikai gyökerekkel foglalkoznak ("Africa Is I Home") vagy pedig éppen Jah
éltetésével ("Jah Be Your Guide", "Rise & Shine), azért természetesen mindennapi élet problémáival is
találkozhatunk, mint a rasszizmus ("Color of Justice") vagy éppen a fegyveres utcai harcok
("Murder Inna Streets"). Jó látni, hogy a Safe Place igazi stúdióalbum lett, hiszen szemben a legtöbb
30 - 60 perc közötti 2012 - es megjelenéssel, Lyrics teledobta jobbnál - jobb muzsikákkal a 74 perces cd keretet.

Since relocating to the UK, Wayne Lyrics continued producing the conscious vibes that he is known and loved for, he recorded his debut album, "Poor People a Bawl," (Road Block Records, 2000), from which came the hit song "Mama." Amongst other big singles were, "Love Conquers All," featuring "Anthony B," and "G Vibes," (Golden Eye label), "Life is Important," (Mon Mon Records, 2005), also "Colour of Justice," on the "Silk" riddim, (V.R.P label). Recordings for other UK labels like, "Jet Star," and "Yush" have kept his name ringing.
He released his second album called "Safe Place" with featuring artistes like Anthony B. ("Foreign"), Pinchers Bandolero ("Battle Field Warrior") and the long time UK veteran Nereus Joseph ("Be Concerned"). In the most of the tunes he praises Jah's name ("Jah Be Your Guide", "Rise & Shine"). However he deals in his lyrics with everyday struggle as well, we can mentioned racism ("Color of Justice") or with the topic of street violence ("Murder Inna Streets").
A popular live performer, he has made several live shows all over France and the European continent even in Hungary and is always in demand for his trade mark sound system specials as heard on many popular Jamaican sound systems such as, "Killamanjaro," "Stone Love," "Bass Odyssey," and others.
He is one of the co-founder of the Reggaewave.net webstation, launched in 2008. In the same year Reggae Wave Records has been established, the first release was the Shining Light Riddim featured artists like Anthony B, Empress Ayeola, Pinchers, KingJay and Wayne Lyrics as himself holding the mic. The next tune is a pre-release dubplate courtesy of Afro-soul Sound the original version was taken from the album release.
